Wow, looks like a great place to see. Thanks for the video. I'm looking to move and ran across this area.

MY Daddy grew up, COWBOY PROUD....He is/Shall Always BE, MY HERO.....I AM A MIRROR IMAGE OF HIM & SO GRATEFUL FOR IT......NOTHING, ON THIS EARTH, SUCH AS A TRUE 'COWBOY'......
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I started visiting Lou Tauberts back in the early 60’s. I can’t imagine going to Wyoming and not stopping there for some shopping. They have more western wear than any store I have been in. My dad bought some beautiful western styled suits there, decades ago. He constantly was complimented about them for decades and eventually he was put to rest in one of them. The only thing I cannot buy from them is the incredible smell of fine leather when you walk in! I’ve found that the real cowboys of the west come in to buy their tack. You are liable to see everything from real cowboys to movie stars at Lou Tauberts!
The best job I ever had in the early eighties. I may still be doing it but it just didn't pay a thing ! I do get nostalgic watching videos like this though ! Keep it up and best regards from NW Montana.
I think I saw Wonderhussy there.
I am a desert girl and NEED to witness this im person. When does it take place?
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship done with a labor of love. Have a beautiful and blessed week.
Screw Cali
One has to be in awe of the mules who did all that pulling over the long original trail as well of those today. Hats off to the human crew as well!
Custer cropped his hair because he knew his scalp was probably gonna be taken....
Fred Fixler...nuff said 😅
youtube channel is: engles coach shop. Great vids on building these and other wagons that built this country.
they need to make cover for old wagons on display.
I was thrilled to see the real 20 mule team and wagons my dad used to work at the U.S Borax company in California fascinating history how the company got started
Those cowboy lawyers that are wearing helmets shouldn’t even be there,.. Why would you do that?!
Cool video, Dave, the builder of the wagons, did an excellent job. Hats off to him and all involved. Though I do wonder why this festival held in the summer, aren’t there cooler months in Death Valley?
this happened in November! Thanks for watching!
The person that recreated these wagons was Dave Engles, of Engels coach shop in Joliet Montana. He made full build videos of this on his you tube channel.
never miss one of daves yt's. the old tv show still on monday thru fr., death valley days.
@@Pushyhog Dave’s YT videos are better , in that he does not proclaim that he knows everything about the projects he does. But as wainwright, wheelwright, blacksmith, he is always learning and he knows when he is out of his depth. Such as with the water tank for the Borax wagon set. Wether he is working on a client project or for himself, that he takes his viewers along in his thought processes is most gratifying.
Fantastic. Amazing it originally only took a two man crew to operate the wagons, mules and horses.
Just attended the Autry show on June 8th and 9th, 2024. Bought an amazing Hopi sculpture of cottonwood root, the corn 'goddess'(?). I have much more to learn about the figure... A few years ago we each bought a drum from a man from Arizona. These items are expensive to me, but they are each one of a kind, made from a long line of skills and traditions passed down from mentor to apprentice. I'm honored to be able to trade cash for high craftsmanship display pieces. We're part of the many millennia of native tribes trading with outsiders. Next show I hope to have more time as there are many wonderful people and families representing diverse tribal cultures to meet and learn from.
Even though I enjoy the works of Claude Monet and Leonardo da Vinci (among others), there has never been a greater artist than Charlie Russell. I've travelled all over the country looking at his artwork (including the Russell Museum in Great Falls as shown in this video) and his artwork will never be equaled.
He resembles Will Rodgers.
About a year and a half ago, I was on a random road trip through Wyoming. I'd been in contact with a good friend Keith and he was giving good recommendations for places to check out in Laramie and also Casper, WY. He said don't miss Lou Taubert's Ranch Outfitters in downtown Casper. This video very-accurately showcases everything special about that store, just as I remembered it... including the vast inventory (boots [and more boots], western wear, saddles, ropes, chaps, Cowboy hats [and more Cowboy hats], the window display out front, the friendly *personalized* service), the 100 year history of the family business, and Louis Taubert, the current owner and manager of the family store. At 5:35 you can see a stack of yellow Saratelli hat-boxes. I was standing there checking out a chestnut felt hat (resting on a stand atop those boxes)...... exactly the color and style I had been wanting for a while. But... being low-budget these days, I was not seriously contemplating buying a hat that was about twice the price of any other I've ever bought. I tried it on, just for the heck of it, went over to the mirror to take a quick look (and I think I took a photo for future reference... for my "next" hat purchase), and went back to put it away where I found it. As I was heading back, some guy approached and offered to custom-fit the hat to my head... no obligation to buy it. I told him it was out of my budget, but he said let's do it anyway... they often do that for customers who are "just browsing." He told me to put it back on my head, and then he simply ran his finger around the inside-edge of the brim against my head. In just those five seconds, he got all the info he needed. I went to go check out more of the store while he went to work at the steamer. Eventually, he found me out on the floor, handed me the hat and said "here, try this." Perfect fit. Still no obligation. And I felt no particular obligation, just because of the effort he just made. But... as I was walking back to the stack of Saratelli boxes to put it back on the stand where I found it, I envisioned driving away from Casper to continue my road trip in my camper, without that hat... and... 100% knew in that moment I would regret it. Every once in a while, it's worth it to stretch out of your budget to treat yourself to something special. I went to the counter, and I'm pretty sure it was one of the ladies in this video who was there to complete the transaction. It took a bit of time with their old-school way of running my card and hand written receipt. The guy that shaped the hat came over, and I thanked him and asked his name. "I'm Louis Taubert, the owner (of Lou Taubert's Ranch Outfiters)," the guy in this video. I'll go back someday. Maybe blow the budget on some good boots, eh?
Cool story ! it's great to have a nice hat! Thanks for watching! more at todayswildwest.com!

643 contestants? WOW that is amazing! Bucketlist for me.
I bet Tom Selleck must be thrilled about how his character in a movie has taken hold like this
Awesome fun! The broncs and bulls were awesome, but let's face it, the mutton bustin' was the best! EDIT: There is a Chris LeDoux song called Montana Rodeo that would go well with this video. Just sayin'.
